The Central Market

This masterpiece of modernist architecture in Valencia was designed in1914 by Francisco Guardia and Alejandro Soler and was inaugurated byKing Alfonso XIII in 1928. With a surface area of over 8000 squaremeters, inside you can find almost whatever in the more than 1000selling posts: fresh fish, vegetables, meat, fruit... You must goinside to feel the atmosphere of the market, and being surrounded bythe smells and colours of this place. Try to visit in during themorning, because it's when it's open (from Monday to Saturday, from7:30 to 14:30).

Mercado central

The central market has an area of more than 8,000 square meters and is built with metal, glass, wood and ceramics.

It consists of a ground floor and basement. It is covered byoriginal domes and different height roofs. As a result of the sunlightthat enters though the coloured stained- glass windows, the place isfull of light and colours.

We should highlight its structure that is finished off by abeautiful dome that symbolized the hubbub of people who is shoppingthere. It was restored and was recovered as leisure centre. Inside,there are now many restaurants, cafes and shops.
